Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig stole the show with this joke at the Golden Globes
An unintentional bid to make the ceremony more fun next year
This year’s Golden Globe Awards was mostly made up of Trump criticisms and Jimmy Fallon’s flat jokes.
Sure, La La Land scooped up a bunch of awards, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend sat down on the red carpet and British actors did particularly well. But the only actually entertaining moment from the awards show for entertainment came from Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig, who seemingly got a rare genuine laugh from the audience.
While presenting the award for the Best Animated Film the pair walk out and have people giggling before they even open their mouths. After riffing on each other’s similar haircuts, the pair begin to share their first experiences of animated films which also happen to coincide with childhood trauma.
The duo reel you in so well you forget what they’re there to do until an on-screen graphic punctuates the whole thing, providing the punchline for them.
Needless to say, Twitter is now calling for them to present next year’s ceremony:
