IT'S HAPPENING.
Well, we all but knew it was happening - the Duffer Brothers have been waxing lyrical about everything they'd like to achieve in a second series of their hit, nostalgia-tinged drama - but Netflix has now confirmed that season two of Stranger Things is on the way.
The chosen medium to announce the new series? More of those bloody lovely credits - interspersed with all the references you can expect this time around.
In case you missed them - or just prefer seeing them all at once - these are the references we can be looking forward to:
- MadMax
- The Boy Who Came Back to Life
- The Pumpkin Patch
- The Palace
- The Storm
- The Pollywog
- The Secret Cabin
- The Brain
- The Lost Brother
The trailer also confirms that the next series will be set in 1984, just one year after the events of the original series - so no issues of the young cast having to act several years old.
The Duffer Brothers are working on nine new episodes, set to debut on Netflix in 2017 (no specific month has been given).
Still, that's plenty of time to start working your way through all the aforementioned eighties flicks. And the first series. Again.
