When you think of Wes Anderson films you probably conjure up some vintage record player emitting the Gallic sounds of Serge Gainsbourg. That, or some oddball heroes riding bicycle in matching tweed, led by Bill Murray.
What you might not think of are fight scenes. After all, he’s not exactly John Woo, is he? However, Vimeo creator Dávid Velenczei has compiled all the most violent parts of Anderson’s filmography so far, suggesting the director might have something of a dark side after all.
Placing all the quick spurts of violence from Anderson’s oeuvre into one tense short video, grouped together it seems like the slapstick humour and childlike hijinks of works like Grand Hotel Budapest and Rushmore might not be as we warm as we'd care to remember: severed heads and detached fingers being proof of that.
Turns out he’s a bit of a sicko really.
