We're entering summer blockbuster season yet again and with it, the expected slew of superhero movies. Even though we're still operating in a financially precarious period, no-one seems to be sharing this with Hollywood.
From The Avengers to The Dark Knight Rises to The Amazing Spider-Man, the combined budget of this year's slate allegedly hits over $600 million combined. So, instead of a bunch of execs losing sleep over the eventual profitability of the films, why not recast the super-powered leads with, say, bugs?
While the smart one-liners might be tough to translate, the refreshing lack of ego and wild demands would surely make for a smoother production schedule. We can all thank mattcantdraw for this leftfield suggestion, after we spotted his set of bugs and butterflies, inspired by iconic heroes.
