TAG Heuer release their knockout tribute to Muhammad Ali
The Greatest? Maybe. A very, very nice watch? Definitely
Launching this week, TAG Heuer’s new Carerra Muhammad Ali pays tribute to the man many called the Athlete of the Century.
The legendary boxer, who died last summer, was one of the twentieth century’s most recognisable figures, responsible for some of the most memorable and important moments in sports and civil rights history, and the special relationship between the brand and the man has been honoured with a special re-edition of the classic 1957 Heuer Ring-Master, a stop watch that featured seven interchangeable rings to allow different sports to be timed.
Rob Diver, managing director of TAG Heuer Europe, said: “At TAG Heuer, we aim to live by our #DontCrackUnderPressure motto. The legacy of Muhammad Ali is a daily inspiration for us all and we are honoured to be working with the Muhammad Ali Centre in preserving his memory.”
The Carerra Muhammad Ali features two crowns - one for setting the time and another on the internal rotating bezel - and a caseback engraved with an image of The Greatest in his prime, alongside his signature.
Mr. Donald Lassere, president and CEO of The Muhammad Ali Center, said: “We’re excited to be part of this special evening that celebrates the tremendous impact of Muhammad Ali. TAG Heuer has helped to create a new platform from which to share Muhammad’s legacy both as a boxer and as a humanitarian, and to inspire greatness around the world.”
