Tarantino confirms his films are all part of the same universe. Sort of
In news that will delight Tarantino aficionados, the cult director has confirmed what many of his fans had been speculating for years: that all his movies are part of a larger masterpiece.
Speaking on The Project on Monday, Tarantino revealed that all of his memorable characters are part of one(ish) universe.
But, because it’s Quentin Tarantino, it’s not quite as simple as that.
"That's not 100 per cent correct. There are actually two separate universes. There is the realer than real universe, alright. And all the characters inhabit that one.
"But then there's this movie universe. So From Dusk Till Dawn, Kill Bill, they all take place in this special movie universe.
"So when all the characters of Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction, when they go to the movies, Kill Bill is what they go to see. From Dusk Till Dawn is what they see.”
You can imagine it: Vincent and Mr. Pink chomping on a Big Kahuna burger while watching Clooney battle vampires on the big screen.
But wait, did Hitler get comically machine gunned in a theatre or not? And did Mia Wallace tell Vince Vega about the Kill Bill characters in Jack Rabbits Slim? We’re confused.
