A faulty parachute. The ground. Gravity. These are the sorts of thing that usually flash through the mind of a first-time skydiver as they prepare to hurl themselves from an aircraft.
After watching the following video, they'll be adding aircraft, daft pilots and propeller blades to the list.
Last October, skydiver Forest Pullman and a tourist thrill-seeker jumped out of a single-prop plane at a height of around 13,000 feet, plummeting towards the Earth in the desired, adrenaline-pumping fashion. To add to the excitement of the spectacle, the pilot of the plane the pair just jumped out of pulled into a dive bomb - Pullman even pointing out the path of its flight to his tandem diver.
However, the pilot manages to get his calculations spectacularly wrong. Rather than zipping past the duo at a safe distance, the plane passes within metres of the couple, clipping the drogue line of their parachute.
Should you be planning on jumping out of any aircraft in the near future, best be sure to ask the pilot just to stick the planned descent route, just to be safe.
