The 10 Best Tracks New On Spotify This Week

We loved vinyl, then we loved taping the top 40 off the radio (ssh don't tell anyone), then we loved shiny CDs. But the future of music listening is via a small green logo, aka Spotify, and a treasure trove of songs available at the click of a button.

That list is constantly being updated, so each week we'll bring you the best 10 songs newly available on the streaming service, whether newly released tracks, remasters of old classics, or simply strange new additions that have appeared for no earthly reason. The funk-rock-groove title track from Jack White's new album, a late album gem from Kasabian's 48:13, some swampy blues rock from the new Rival Sons album, a fantastic new single from Sébastien Tellier, the haunting Return To from #1 Dads featuring Tom Snowdon, our favourite from Chrissie Hynde's new solo album, the opening track from The Phantom Band's album Strange Friend, the going-to-be-inescapable-but-actually-really-good song from X Factor's Ella Henderson, the debut solo track from double No.1 guest vocalist Jess Glynne and a riproaring live version of a classic track from The Who.

Jack White shows his class again, Jess Glynne is a big future star, and the #1 Dads and Tom Snowdon track is unbearably beautiful.

The gorgeous new track from Swedish-Australian twins Say Lou Lou, the return of a dancified Kasabian, the quirky Clean Bandit finally follow up their monster hit, Rather Be, with an album - this track taken from it features Rae Morris, an intriguing new artist in former ShortListen pick Seinabo Sey, a great collaboration between SomethingALaMode and DWNTWN, a rock classic featured on the newly remastered version of Soundgarden's epic Superunknown, our favourite track from the excellent new James record, Fucked Up make a suitably noisy return, a fantastic track from up-and-coming metal band Shrine and the new one from Deadmau5, ahead of his forthcoming new double album.

An anthemic comeback track from Glaswegians Twin Atlantic, Lana Del Rey's long-awaited, excellent return, a track from Dum Dum Girls' Dee and husband Brandon from Crocodiles who team up to form Haunted Hearts, triumphant disco from Hercules & Love Affair's new album, our fave from the new Echo & The Bunnymen record, a ShortListen standout from new artist Dorine Levy, a beautiful electronic track from Benbrick, a 10-minute-long epic from the Röyksopp & Robyn joint mini-album, some dark instrumental electronica from Mute's Ben Frost and, finally, a track from Neil Young's new album, A Letter Home, which was recorded on a refurbished 1947 Voice-o-Graph vinyl recording booth at Jack White's Third Man store in Nashville, Tennessee.

The opening track from the ever-brilliant Mancunians Cherry Ghost, one from The Roots intriguingly-titled new album ...And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, a choice cut from another Manchester institution in Mr Scruff - taken from his new album Friendly Bacteria, our favourite track from the hotly-tipped Thumpers debut album, the opener from The Sunshine Underground's new dance-influenced record, LA supergroup California Breed (featuring Jason Bonham on drums) give us some no-nonsense rock, a classic remastered B-side from the OasisDefinitely Maybe reissue, an appropriately beautiful track from the new R.E.M. Unplugged compilation, a song from the new Conor Oberst record and some delicate folk from the fantastic Cara Dillon.

Call it nostalgia but the Oasis and R.E.M. tracks remind us what great bands they were, while The Roots are always unmissable.

Our favourite track from the new Chromeo album White Women, Micheael Jackson's "return", with this really-quite-good disco track, a track from ShortListen favourite Saint Raymond's new EP, US indie-poppers Cheerleader's debut song, the low-key return of La Roux, some late-night magic from Foxes debut album Glorious, the return of Little Dragon, a "proper" song from Eurovision in the shape of The Netherlands' Common Linnets, a track from Nick Mulvey - formerly of Portico Quartet, and an excellent track from Tori Amos new record.

Super Furry Animals frontman and all-round legend Gruff Rhys returns with another set of songs - here's the title track from American Interior, The Horrors provide an impressive follow-up to Skying, with Luminous - this is our favourite track, Foxes provides another great pop-with-depth effort, the magnificent Giorgio Moroder remixes Coldplay to staggeringly brilliant effect, Röyksopp & Robyn team up for the title track from their EP, Lily Allen returns with Sheezus - this is a standout, Disclosure finally release the uncompromising The Mechanism, Nine Black Alps continue to plow their grunge furrow, Tune-Yards dish up more wonky pop with this track taken from Nikki Nack and finally, a father-son kora-playing duo hailing from Mali - this is a track from Toumani Diabaté and Sidiki Diabaté's critically-acclaimed record together.
