The £8,500 Drinks Trolley

The £8,500 Drinks Trolley

The £8,500 Drinks Trolley

There comes a time in a man's life when he looks at his overflowing collection of video games and DVD boxes and realises he could be making better use of his living space (and spare time).

While he might dream of knocking through to the kitchen and installing the ultimate open plan living room bar, pesky practicalities like budgets and planning regulations usually don't allow for such visions. Thankfully, we've found the perfect £8,500 solution.

This elegant construction of aluminium and walnut is The Sidecar - the perfect portable bar solution. The result of a creative collaboration between Moore & Giles and barman-turned-author Jim Meehan, every aspect of this functional furniture piece has the needs of a barman in mind.

The block-like table top (sealed, to prevent ring marks and stains) is bookended by leather-covered shelves, softened to help nullified the sound of clanking glassware. Bottles are cradled by leather-wrapped hexagonal brass handles, while the long cabinet conceals a brass-bound bin for watery waste.

There are a multitude of cubbyholes for storage of tumblers, highballs, pilsner, wine and cocktail glasses, while the whole array glides along on wheels originally made for a grand piano.

Stylish and overstated, you're going to have to mix a pretty mean cocktail to warrant having one of these in the corner of the lounge. You can pick one up for £8,500 here.
