It’s fair to say that superheroes aren’t the best dressers. In fact, if they existed in real life, they’d be rightly pilloried for their flagrant disregard for the purpose of undergarments.
But, at the same time, it must be remembered that a sizeable proportion of them are actually extra-terrestrial beings, whose idea of fashion is probably wearing an enemy’s skin as a balaclava. Being invulnerable doesn’t mean you can choose a tie.
Now, though, that’s all about to change because art director Zi Wei Tan from Singapore has turned their frankly OTT costumes into elegant imagined suit and tie combos.
The project is called, appropriately, Suit and Tie, and is a tribute to the Marvel superheroes starring in the upcoming movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Each one even comes with a custom tie design based on the character's weapon of choice. You wouldn’t get that on Savile Row.
