After Alex Garland's best-selling thriller was turned into a slightly disappointing movie from Danny Boyle, you'd have thought we might have heard the last from The Beach.
But in a surprising piece of news, it seems as if it's making a small screen comeback.
Although the Oscar-winning director of Slumdog Millionaire and his Oscar-nominated leading man Leonardo Dicaprio couldn't bring much life to the movie, US TV network Fox believe they can bring some magic to the cautionary tale of a backpacker nightmare.
The new series is based on both the original novel and the film and comes from writer Andrew Miller, best known for teen shows The Secret Circle and, ermmm, Imaginary Bitches.
“It’s about a group of young people feeling disconnected and disenchanted from society who try to start over in paradise but discover that while creating the perfect world is hard, protecting it is even harder,” Miller revealed to Deadline.
What do you think? Is it worth another try?
