There are certain things you'd let Budweiser handle, with some level of trust. Providing you with slightly below average beer is one of them.
Delivering solid small screen entertainment is not one of them. But over in the US, where it's somehow the second most popular beer, ABC is airing an hour-long show, controlled by Budweiser.
It's a new reality project, called "Bud United presents: The Big Time'', which will feature people competing in competitions, whether they be sports, music of even food-based. As the show will be transmitted on Saturday afternoons, the actual consumption of beer will be limited.
No-one will actually drink on the show but the contestants will finish every episode by toasting each other with Buds. They won't be able to sip though...
It marks the first time an alcohol brand has launched a TV show and we hope it will be the last. Although we would like to see Smirnoff sponsor a taxing game show, where contestants answer difficult questions, while under the influence. Just saying.
