Remember back in the early 90s when everyone suddenly discovered that endlessly polluting the environment was actually not a good thing? Before we knew it, feelings of guilt were embedded into pretty much everything.
Even when we tried to watch cartoons, Captain Planet arrived to teach us a lesson amidst some standard animated shenanigans.
Now that we're in 2011 and we've actually come to terms with the fact that we're killing the earth, Hollywood is transplanting the world's most placid superhero to the big screen.
Believing that the green message is actually more relevant than ever, Transformers producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford are hoping to turn the Captain and his underage employees into cinematic heroes. We can probably expect a lot of loud noises then.
Let's just hope that they've finally found a way of bettering poor Mai-Ti's power, as having a good heart and empowering others with love, care and sympathy means even less now than it did in 1990.
Oh, and just because you're already singing it:
