You can officially wear your facial hair with pride – we’ve given bearded designer Patrick Grant (director of tailors Norton & Sons on Savile Row) the honorary award for Best Groomed British Male at our annual ShortList Grooming Awards. Although, it’s worth noting that he regularly brushes his beard – if you want to try to emulate his style you can’t just let it go all Catweazle.
ShortList’s style director Adrian Clark, one of the Grooming Awards judges, explains the decision: “Grant has become the poster boy for Savile Row’s next generation rebirth, and he embodies the heritage revival of classic British dandyism: old-school yet contemporary, groomed yet masculine.
His carefully trimmed beard and neatly styled barbershop haircut, combined with roguish good looks, mirror the menswear trends in vogue at the moment.”
Grant will be presented with his award from us at a special breakfast ceremony at Harrods on Friday morning.
