The First Full Trailer For Spooks: The Greater Good
If there's one thing that any Spooks viewer should know it's the dead don't necessarily stay dead.
Focused on the covert and frequently fatal escapades of an ever-changing rosta of MI-5 agents, Spooks was a massive TV hit for the BBC from 2002 to 2011, but when it all came to a mostly unhappy ending with series ten, fans thought that was it. This year, however, Spooks is back and even bigger, moving to cinema screens with Spooks: The Greater Good. And now there's an action-heavy trailer to whet your appetite.
The film, due for release on May 8, shouldn't require any homework for those who have never watched the TV show. The only major returning character (partly because most of the others popped it) is Harry (Peter Firth), the head of MI-5's counter-terrorism unit, who starts the film having a very bad day.
A terrorist escapes from custody while being handed over to Harry's people, then Harry himself disappears soon after. It's left up to new boy Will (Game of Thrones' Kit Harrington) to find out what happened and prevent one of Spooks' signature catastrophic attacks on London.
If Spooks: The Greater Good works could we be seeing the birth of a younger version of the Bond series? If we told you we'd have to, well you know.
