Fans of Preacher will have been wondering if the cult comic series would ever make it to screens.
From TV series, to one-off film, everyone from Miramax and HBO has attempted to make an adaptation of the adventures surrounding the titular badass Texan minister, with even Sam Mendes at one stage set to direct.
But now, their prayers have been answered, as here comes the trailer for the TV series due on AMC midway through next year, and given those guys were also behind Breaking Bad, the omens look good - as does the trailer itself, looking every bit as dark, twisted (quite literally in regard to one man’s arm snapped off by our anti-hero) and offbeat as fanboys could have hoped.
Developed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, it stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, the hick town clergyman who becomes fused with a powerful entity named Genesis and embarks on a journey of revenge and discovery across the US along with his ex-lover, Tulip, and Irish vampire best friend, Cassidy.
Like we said, offbeat.
