The first trailer for Season 4 of 'Peaky Blinders' is here and looks amazing
This can't come soon enough
Hold on to your flat caps - Birmingham-based post-World War I drama Peaky Blinders is back. The first official trailer for Season 4 dropped today courtesy of the BBC, and sees Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and the rest of the gang back on our screens and in trouble.
The new season takes place six months after the conclusion of season 3, the trailer opening with Tommy receiving a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve which warns of the Peaky Blinders being in “danger of annihilation”. We are treated to a montage of the Shelby family - and a clip of Aunt Polly being led to a hanging noose - as Murphy can be heard saying “Today, we end this war between us… they’re coming for us all – we don’t get to decide who lives or dies.”
Speaking to Today FM in Ireland, the lead actor said: “The last season was sort of all about the wealth, the house and all that material stuff. This season is a sort of a return to the roots. That’s about as much as I can reveal.”
The trailer also shows a dramatic comeback from gangster Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy), along with the introduction of two big new names: Adrian Brody and Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen. Brody features as the ‘biggest threat’ to the family in a role written especially for him.
An official release date for the new season of the show is yet to be announced, but it’s expected to be back on BBC 2 this autumn.
