The Friday The 13th Video Game Looks Horribly Good
Good news, horror fans.
Earlier this year we brought you word that Sean Cunningham, director of the original Friday the 13th, had given his blessing to a "predator versus pray" video game based around the themes of his cult hit.
And now, with the scent of Halloween tingeing the air, we've got our first look at the grizzly slasher game.
The creation of Gun Media, Friday the 13th: The Game sees eight players face off in an asymmetrical hunter game - one taking the role of Jason, while the remaining seven control camp counsellors, tasked with "surviving the night".
Set in the iconic Camp Crystal Lake, the player in control of Jason will be able to dispose of the hapless campers in suitably grim fashion, with choke holds, impalings and decapitation.
Meanwhile the counsellors will have to use a combination of teamwork and tools to take down Jason in a synchronised attack.
With extras including a 'Make Your Own Horror' replay editor and unlockable characters, it sounds like more than a cheap free-to-play online offering.
Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, the game should arrive on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in November if successful.
Lets hope it doesn't disappear like a grim spectre as many other Kickstarted video games have a habit of doing.
