We love The Godfather. We've got the books, the steel-tin Blu-ray, several t-shirts and even written a quiz about it.
Yet despite our devotion, we've never had the courage (or bank balance) to purchase Steve Schapiro's coffee table masterpiece, The Godfather Family Album - a collection of Schapiro's iconic photographs and interviews that offer the definitive 'behind the scenes' of one of the greatest trilogies of cinema history.
Publisher TASCHEN have printed several limited edition collections of Schapiro's intimate work in the past; it's first version, limited to 100 copies, retailed for a wallet-draining $ 6,000 (£3,940). That's more than all our furniture, let alone the coffee table.
We were thus overjoyed to hear that, this September, TASCHEN will be publishing an affordable ($39.99, £26) hardcover version of the Album, packed with Schapiro's incredible photography, edited by the award winning Paul Duncan.
