With Guardians Of The Galaxy still weeks from release and leaving many clueless as what to expect from arguably Marvel's oddest action franchise to date, you'll be pleased to know that the soundtrack has arrived.
And, as those in-the-know will already be aware from the trailers, it's anything but your average soundtrack, offering some cheesy rock-laden numbers, a bit of easy-listening, and other oddities that don't exactly scream multi-million dollar space opera.
The bulk of these tracks come from the Walkman belonging to half-human space hero Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), beamed up with him in the eighties when plucked from earth as a youngster. And when we meet him in his future guise, it's still the source of his musical entertainment while cruising the galaxy in his handsome little spaceship.
What's more, when we sneaked our way on set late last year, director James Gunn - who has also been quick to stress that these aren't the only songs used in the film - let slip that some of the tunes have even been worked into the film’s score, promising something very exciting indeed.
To give them the prestige they deserve, we've compiled the tracks into a neat Spotify playlist, below.
Guardians Of The Galaxy is in cinemas from 31 July. And you can pre-order the soundtrack on Amazon now
