You can forget your VR goggles and next gen wonder boxes - the future is all-aluminium, cartridge-based and deliciously retro.
Okay, so this sleek box of silver isn't going to overthrow the current console behemoths - but the Analogue Nt isn't setting its sights on living room domination. This is aimed squarely at those gamers longing for the bygone days of pixelated platformers and blowing into cartridges.
Having been teased back in March, Analogue Interactive have lifted the veil on their redesigned Nintendo Entertainment System. Packing the original NES hardware into a single block of 6061 aluminium, the Nt's HDMI adapter (sold separately, the rascals) can upscale the console's output to a lovely 1080p - making your classic video game collection the sharpest it's ever looked.
There are four controller ports, slots for both NES and Famicom hardware, and you can even choose what colour it comes in - so long as you choose silver, black, pink, red or blue.
Currently available for pre-order for £295 ($499), best make room under your TV for another little box of tricks and dig out the cartridges from the loft.
