'The One Where Chandler Dies' is the darkest Friends recut yet
Could this supercut BE any more existential?
Ever wondered what one of America’s most beloved sitcoms would looks like if they killed the studio laughter and upped the existential terror?
You have? Great, because that’s exactly what you get in this exemplary fan edit entitled, yes, The One Where Chandler Dies.
A strangely and spookily enjoyable mash up (at over 16 minutes, it’s practically an episode), YouTube user Dogfood presents us with the bleakest Friends episode since Ross and Rachel broke up, killing off the most sarcastic of the Central Perk Six before the opening credits have even run.
Once the rest of the gang have reacted to the news of his demise, we’re taken away from the oft used studio sets right into heaven itself, where Chandler, sat on his favourite Lay-Z-Boy, ruminates over his life on earth. Watching on as his best bud Joey makes the moves on his grieving spouse, it’s soon clear our deceased star has some unfinished business – and then it gets even weirder.
With Friends like these who needs enemies?
