Boy who saved his brother's life thanks to The Rock gets the ultimate reward from his hero
Is there any kinder celebrity out there?
Anyone who thinks you can learn nothing from disaster movies is way off base – just ask the internet’s favourite actor-with-muscles, The Rock.
The wrestler-turned-Hollywood-star – real name Dwayne Johnson – has shared a photo of him meeting 10-year-old Jacob O’Connor, who counts San Andreas as his favourite film.
Now, you might think there’s not a lot you can take from such a film besides excitement at all the explosions and high drama, but you’d be wrong.
O’Connor loves the film, and it may well forever be his favourite after it helped him save the life of his younger brother Dylan.
He performed chest compressions after finding his brother face down in a pool, and credited the film with reminding him what to do in the situation.
“The movie just popped up in my head and I started thinking about that scene,” he told the Washington Post at the time, referring to a scene in which Johnson’s character Raymond Gaines saves his daughter’s life.
The young hero’s actions did not go unnoticed by The Rock, and Jacob was given a chance to meet the actor.
Of course he wasn’t going to pass up on the opportunity to do so while wearing an item of clothing very close to his idol’s heart.
Try to watch this without a grin stretching across your face – this is exactly what a young fan meeting an A-lister should be all about.
