Brighton band's guitarist Tom Searle passes away after cancer fight
Who? Architects
What’s the story? 2016 continues to take a shocking toll on the music world, with the sad news of Architects' guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle's death on Saturday following a cancer battle. While his death, at the age of just 28, is of course, terribly premature, his friends, relatives and fans can at least console themselves that he leaves a huge legacy of music to enjoy in the years to come, with the Brighton metalcore band having released an impressive seven albums in the ten years that they've been active. Fittingly, their most recent record, All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, released in May this year, was their highest-charting record and their most critically-acclaimed too. If you're going to go out, go out on a high, that's what we say. Check out Downfall, a blistering track from that album, above, and delve into the rest of their back catalogue if you get the chance.
