Who:Hot 8 Brass Band
What’s the story: If a murky political climate coupled with the fact pound sterling will soon be at the rate of Monopoly money has you close to buying tinned food and waiting out the apocalypse in your basement, here’s some perfectly timed jazz funk goodness. And if any group know about the power of music, it’s this New Orleans octet: despite seeing three of its members killed by gun violence over the years, it hasn't stopped them spreading the message of love through their music - quite literally with their famous cover of Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing – and here comes another high-energy jam, Wolf Burger, taken from a recent sold-out run in London and now ready for your listening pleasure. If you’re looking to see them on these shores again soon, tickets are still available for Somerset’s Farm Festival from 29 to 30 July.
For fans of: Marvin Gaye, Mark Ronson
In three words: Uplifting jazz goodness
