Who? Jurassic 5
What’s the story? There's something in the water for comeback tunes at the moment. Just days after the Avalanches released their first track in over 15 years - the highly-enjoyable Frankie Sinatra - LA hip hop legends Jurassic 5 issue their own new track, in the form of Customer Service. It's actually their second track since their 2013 reunion, after they originally split in 2007 following the 2006 Feedback album - with the barnstorming White Stripes-sampling The Way We Do It coming out two years ago, but being denied a full release, presumably after Jack and Meg refused permission. The new track was seemingly recorded during the Power In Numbers sessions 14 years ago, but it sounds as fresh as a daisy, perhaps unsurprising, since Jurassic 5 were always kings of good time party hip hop, which will never go out of fashion. Given their sensational live shows since returning, we just hope this is the precursor to a full new record - it's what the world needs right now.
