What's the story? Two covers for the price of one here: Kanye West, paying homage to, well, himself, remixing Say You Will from 808s & Heartbreak, along with Tell Your Friends, a recent hit West produced for The Weeknd’s recent album Beauty Behind The Madness. Just one of the formally overlooked, deeper, minimalist tracks from that album starting to get the recognition it deserves (at two recent concerts, West recently played 808s & Heartbreak in its entirety) it’s done no harm by the artist here, adding a vocal contribution from Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw to ramp up the gravitas. His other remix, called When I See It, isn’t bad either. But we won’t say anymore for fear of inflating Ye’s ego bigger than it already is.
