The ShortListen: Sundara Karma (no. 373)
Reading band prepare for festival homecoming with new track
Who? Sundara Karma
What’s the story? The August bank holiday weekend is on the horizon and that means two things for the discerning music fan: the Notting Hill Carnival and the Reading and Leeds Festival. Who decided to put them both on the same weekend? It's very annoying. Anyway, if you're more rock than reggae, then you'll be heading to Reading - and while you're there make sure to check out Sundara Karma, who hail from the Berkshire town and will be making their main stage debut. We've supported the band over the last few years here on The ShortListen and to celebrate their upcoming performance, they've released new single She Said. As usual, it's a great slice of indie rock which is, perhaps, slightly more carefree and summery than their previous output - it'll certainly suit the expected weekend weather perfectly. Their debut album Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect has been announced for 6 Jan - get it in your diary.
