Who? Wild Palms
What’s the story? The weather may still be relatively clement, but winter will be settling in soon, which means it's prime time for some dark, claustrophobic music to stick on the headphones. Fitting the bill perfectly are London based quartet Wild Palms, signed to One Little Indian and currently readying their second album. This track, Ennio, is their latest single (which you can purchase on rather natty hand-painted 7" vinyl) and it mixes up the vocal style of Beth Gibbons with the jittery drum backing of Psyence Fiction-era UNKLE. In fact, this song could be a distant cousin of the amazing Bloodstain from that record, which was produced by DJ Shadow. While he's off producing different stuff these days, why not enjoy this instead?
