Danny Boyle appears to be on quite the winning streak. After the Oscar-winning triumph of Slumdog Millionaire, the Oscar-nominated success of 127 Hours and then last year's astoundingly well-orchestrated opening ceremony to the Olympics, hopes are sky high for his next film.
Details have been rather scant up until now but we finally have our first proper look at Trance, Boyle's daring art heist thriller. Coming off as Memento meets The Thomas Crowm Affair, the film stars James McAvoy as an art auctioneer who gets involved in a theft, only to suffer a bout of amnesia. In comes gang leader Vincent Cassel and hypnotherapist Rosario Dawson to try and jog his memory.
It looks like a hark back to his low-budget roots, suggesting more of a Shallow Grave than a Slumdog.
What do you think? Suitably intrigued?
Trance hits cinemas on March 27th
