There’s an Amy Winehouse blockbuster movie on the way
By now, you really should’ve really seen Asif Kapadia’s incredible documentary, Amy, about the rise and untimely fall of the late great soul singer Amy Winehouse. We had a, er, thing in our eye the whole way through it.
Now, four years since her tragic death, the life of the six-time Grammy winner is set to become a Hollywood blockbuster.
Heading up talks for what’s certain to be another tearjerker is Irish filmmaker Kristen Sheridan, who wrote 2002’s In America along with her father, acclaimed director Jim Sheridan.
And the actress favourite to don Winehouse’s trademark beehive do and tattoos? None other than The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’s Noomi Rapace.
The award-winning Swedish star once stated that "I'm interested in people's darker side, the ones that aren't easy and well balanced". So if anyone’s got the chutzpah to go Back to Black, it’s Noomi.
