Think David Brent is content with merely becoming a star of the big screen? Nooo. Think on my friend.
Ricky Gervais has announced that Brent will be releasing a single "in July" - the big tease. Upon being questioned by a fan, Gervais revealed that he, "sort of fused Braveheart with Simon & Garfunkel shit".
The song will be taken from the upcoming David Brent: Life On The Road movie, which hits UK cinemas on August 19.
Gervais revealed last year that an album of tracks, written with former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows and US indie band We Are Scientists, would be released. Song titles include Native American and Please Don't Make Fun Of The Disabled, together with - if the amazing first trailer is to be believed - a song "about rock n' roll" but which is also "a metaphor for sex."
