There's A 'My Little Pony' Fighting Game In The Works
Calling all Bronies, gamers and people who just love a good fight - My Little Pony is about to get rough.
We're not going to pretend we understand Bronies, nor the fanboy cult that surrounds the animated TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. All we know is that back in 2013, indie game developer Mane 6 released a combat game Fighting is Magic that saw the cast of loveable equines thump the living hay out of each other. Hasbro objected, there was a desist order and it went away.
But now, by the wonders of Indiegogo crowdfunding and a sponsored_longform with Lauren Faust (producer and developer for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) Fighting is Magic lives on.
A four-button, magic enhanced, combo-hunting brawler game, Them's Fightin' Herds (they had to change the name) is easily one of the most unusual fan games we've ever seen. They' not mucking about - there's a dynamic music system that reacts to gameplay, a full visual lobby to wonder around in and a mass of gorgeous animations.
For $15 (£10), you can help push Them's Fightin' Herds towards its goal of $436,000 (it's currently at $105,779 after one day), with the game shipping in November should the project prove successful.
We don't understand the internet anymore.
