Someone put up a massive statue of Theresa May swearing in Kent because... we dunno really

This Monday morning someone saw fit to erect a massive structure of Prime Minister Theresa May flicking the V sign on the White Cliff of Dover.

We’re not sure if the structure, which shows the leader of the Conservative party dressed in a Union Jack skirt, is meant to show how Britain wants to tell Europe to do one. Or how much May hates the sea? Or fish?

Honestly, no one can quite figure out why someone set this up. Our guess? It’s some kind of elaborate marketing campaign for a pro-May/pro-Brexit minded individual.

It’s a bit of an odd one to be honest with you – maybe it’s a satire on being pro-Brexit and they’re actually against it? - and unsurprisingly, the Kent structure was taken down almost as soon as it was spotted.

According to Kent Online, the whole thing was planned over the weekend.

St Margaret local Samantha Stanley told the newspaper, “They were putting up the scaffolding on Friday and over the weekend but Mrs May went up early this morning.

“They were filming it with a drone when we walked past at about 8.45am.”

With the filming in the can, only time can tell who was responsible for the stunt, although Kent locals have dubbed it both hideous and hilarious. Local resident Simon Hare said: “Whether you agree or disagree with Brexit, it was crass, vulgar and insulting to any Europeans coming into Dover on the ferry and a ridiculous message to send to Europe when we are about to start negotiating our exit from the EU!”

As for the social media response? Well….
