These Air Jordans will sell out faster than you could ever imagine
Nike pays tribute to the Air Jordan 1 in this nostalgic release
It seems like everyone is going nostalgic this season with their trainers. From Reebok Classic to Fila to adidas, all the major labels have been reviving or paying homage to forgotten styles, and now Nike has joined the bandwagon with the announcement of the Air Jordan XXXI.
Bringing together retro and contemporary silhouettes, this new (well, kind of old) shoe is a tribute to the Air Jordan I, and exactly like the shoe that kicked it all off, it'll come in the iconic Banned colourway.
“The shoe represented that spirit that he brought to the basketball court by being so different," adds Larry Miller, President of the Jordan Brand. "Michael kind of threw the rules out on how you were supposed to play the game. The shoe kind of threw the rules out on what a basketball shoe was supposed to be… People who weren’t even into basketball found out about the shoe and it became this catalyst for where we are today."
Don't worry though, all your favourite modern trainer advancements are still there, with FlightSpeed technology, a full-scale Zoom Air unit and low-profile cushioning being present.
