Chilling pics from inside the $300 million Titanic replica set to sail in 2018

It sounds like the Hollywood sequel that nobody asked for, but Titanic II is totally happening.

Instead of steaming onto the big screen, a $300 million ocean-going replica of the most famous cruise liner in history will be making its maiden voyage in 2018, and these pics prove beyond all doubt that the makers have been meticulous in capturing the original’s majesty.

The RMS Titanic, which sank in April 1912 in the north Atlantic Ocean, was built in Belfast whereas the new 885ft seafaring beast is coming straight out of Jiangsu, China. But that’s pretty much where the biggest difference lays.

Passenger capacity is almost identical in both new and old, as is the length, height and crew size. The number of decks is exactly the same, as is the max speed. There will be a whole lot more lifeboats on the modern model, though.

Take a look at the images below. How much the interior harks back to the original site of the terrifying maritime disaster may well give you a bit of a chill.
