Augmented reality: noun - a technology superimposing a computer-generated image on a user's view of the real world, thus providing a composite view.
Google is betting big on it with Google Glass. Microsoft is hard at work on its own HoloLens. Magic Leap - one of the most secretive, well funded development studios in the world - thinks it's the future.
Yet while some augmented reality apps have started cropping up on smartphones, the technology is yet to really catch on: the potential is there, but the content and the hardware isn't living up to the hype. And if Keiichi Matsuda's film is anything to go by, we don't think we really want it to. At least, not like this.
