In case you're not already aware, and prepare yourself for this, Steven Spielberg (aka one of the primary authors of our youth) is giving up the game.
The director of E.T., Jurassic Park and Jaws is finally heading to the finest "retirement community" on earth. But while you furiously wipe away those salty tears, comfort yourself with the fact that he has two films out before the end of the year.
The first of which stars another important character of our younger years (if you were a bit too middle class for Dennis the Menace), Tintin.
Collaborating with Peter Jackson, a reliable bedfellow if ever there was one, Spielberg has created a 3D performance-capture take on the classic story and brought on Attack the Block's Joe Cornish as one of the writers. You can read what Cornish thought of the great man here.
The first teaser for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn has arrived and while it's pretty tough to gather what the hell is going on, it's looking like a must-see come December. If only to show Spielberg that we simply can't live without him. Not being dramatic or anything.
