He's one of our biggest ever musical exports and thanks to his, ahem, complicated personality, he's never too far away from the headlines. So it makes a lot of sense that an Elton John biopic would be in the works.
It might make a bit less sense that Bane himself, Tom Hardy, is currently the hot favourite for the role. The British actor, also known for hard man roles in Warrior and Bronson, is in talks to star in Rocketman, a musical take on the star's life.
The film will feature choreographed sequences set around some of John's biggest hits. It'll be directed by Michael Gracey, who is also set to helm Hugh Jackman-starring musical The Greatest Showman On Earth, and the script comes from Billy Elliot's Lee Hall.
The story will follow Elton John from the age of 5 where he was seen as a musical prodigy to his life as a hugely successful young singer.
Sir Elton will be exec-producing so we expect very high standards across the board.
Tom Hardy will next be seen in Mad Max: Fury Road.
