You knew about Matt LeBlanc. We’d picked up the rumours about Eddie Jordan. But now the BBC has revealed the full line-up of presenters for its rebooted, sans-Clarkson motor show. And it’s big.
Racing driver Sabine Schmitz (she who drove a Transit van around the Nurburgring), YouTube star Chris Harris (?) and motoring journalist Rory Reid will join Evans, LeBlanc and Jordan (and the Stig) when the show returns to screens in May.
Reid was selected via a public audition process, submitting a 30 second audition tape that won over the BBC.
“To be the only person to make it through the open audition process makes me immensely proud,” said Reid. “I’ve been a Top Gear fan for decades, but more than that, I live and breathe cars in a way that is perfectly compatible with the show.”
It’s believed that the larger presenter group won’t appear in every episode, with Evans acting as the permanent host while other presenters drop in and out for various features.
Are you a fan of the new line up? Let us know.
