'Walking' tube map shows the number of steps between stations

As Londoners buried neck deep in the armpits of sweaty tourists on the Central Line will attest, sometimes getting the tube isn't worth the hassle. Not one bit.

What's more, with many central London stations less than 1,000 steps apart, it's not always the most practical form of travel either. And so, in a bid to keep people of the capital fit and tube congestion to a minimum, Transport for London (TfL) has launched a new version of the iconic Tube map, highlighting how many steps it takes to walk between stations in zones 1 and 2. The map comes as part of an effort from mayor Sadiq Khan to make London one of the most walkable cities in the world. 

Though if he really wanted that, he should never have opened the Night Tube.
