Now, they're veering dangerously close to clown shoe territory, but these new Converse are just on the right side of cool.
The colourful weave shoes are the newest look for the Chuck Taylor All-Star silhouette and will be available first in the Asia-Pacific region before heading to the rest of the world.
They're handwoven using contrasting egret colour strips based around a solid midsole and toecap, finished with white accents for the heel tab, lining, logo patch and tongue label. Debuting in Converse stores in China and South Korea on October 1, they then roll out to Hong Kong and Taiwan from October 17 and will set you back $800 RMB (£80) for the high tops and $770 RMB (£77) for the ox.
You'll definitely stand out, although we'd recommend leaving the face paints and red wig at home when you wear them out.
