Umbro gets a contemporary update with new Henry Holland collection
Looking like you punch horses just got a lot cooler...
Football fashion is seeing a revolution at the minute. No longer is it just hoodies and battered adidas Originals: first football scarves got a premium streetwear overhaul, and now retro sports brands are updating their look for modern times, with Umbro teaming up with House of Holland for a new collaboration of updating some sports classics.
Combining the sporting heritage of Umbro with Holland's eccentric eye for design, this 24-piece collection takes elements of terrace fashion (heavy branding, vertical stripes, co-ords) and revamps them with with snakeskin, polka dots, and brash colourways.
"I love the fact that Umbro is a Manchester brand, that it's so connected with football culture, and not just another lifestyle brand with a sportswear element,” said Holland, praising the iconic brand started in Wilmslow in 1924.
So at least if you punch a horse at a rival Northern football match, you’re going to look absolutely slick for the cameras.
The collection has started dropping in now at House of Holland, starting from £61
