We should probably warn you from the outset: the footage you’re about to see below isn’t a prequel to The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.
On the contrary - Unbroken, Angelina Jolie’s latest directorial effort, is based on a real-life story. What’s more? It might just be one of the most powerful films of recent memory.
Based on the scarcely believable life of Louie Zamperini, it follows the life of the US Olympian who competed at Hitler’s 1936 Olympics, joined the air force when WW2 broke out, survived a plane crash in the Atlantic, floated on a raft in shark-infested waters for over a month and then endured two years in a Japanese POW camp.
The man himself is being portrayed by Brit star-in-the-making Jack O’Connell, while the film will no doubt benefits from a script penned by The Coen Brothers, adapted from Laura Hillenbrand’s book of the same name.
Breathless just reading about it? Well expect even more on-screen, as hinted by this brilliant, awe-inspiring trailer.
