The war against bacteria has produced some of human kind's finest achievements: antibiotics, penicillin, Toilet Duck - and now, the Body Dryer.
The creation of New York-based Tyler Overk, the Body Dryer is essentially the full body hand dryer your bathroom is missing (and, in all probability, will continue to miss).
Roughly the size and shape of a set of bathroom scales, sopping wet users activate the Dryer by standing on its grilled footplate. The Dryer proceeds to emit jets of warm ionised air, blasting water off user in a process which Overk claims takes less than 30 seconds.
Aimed at tackling that irksome problem of bacteria growing on towels, Overk hopes that his Body Dryer will be in homes the world over, getting rid of those "6-20 towels currently sitting on shelves in the bathroom".
While we hoped this was a spoof, enough damp punters seem to require the services of the Body Dryer, as it's recently smashed its funding target over on indiegogo . You can still pick one up for £120. We're off to buy some more towels to meet the international quota of 6-20.
