Freerunning is good for three things: bypassing crowded streets, impressing girls and avoiding zombies. At least, that's what the new story trailer for Dying Light would have us believe.
Taking a leaf out of Mirror's Edge's acrobatic book, Dying Light is the latest survival action romp from Techland - the studio behind 2011's grizzly Dead Island. While not a direct sequel, there are plenty of similarities between Techland's undead creations: Dying Light takes place in a quarantined slum, providing players with a seemingly endless maze of rooftops and drain pipes to scurry around in hopes of avoiding armed troops and hungry hordes.
Assuming the role of Kyle Crane, an undercover operative sent to infiltrate the quarantine zone, it's not a straightforward story of alive vs dead, as the slum's citizens and occupying forces turn on each other in the fight for survival. Things get predictably gory.
Dying Light arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 30 January
