Short of another major motion picture company having their email hacked between now and the New Year, this is the last piece of superhero casting news we're going to bring you in 2014. Probably.
The Latino Review claims to have word on the final major casting for DC's star-filled Suicide Squad adaptation. Viola Davis (Oscar nominated for The Help and now headlining hit show How To Get Away With Murder) will be joining the likes of Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto as the squad's ball-breaking leader, Amanda Waller.
The news ends fan speculation - including the comic series' writer - as to whether Davis would land the role ahead of names including Oprah Winfrey and Queen Latifah. For those unacquainted with Amanda "The Wall" Waller, the secret government agent plays a similar role to Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury in Marvel's Avengers: heading up a band of super villains, it's up to Waller to ensure that the criminals carry out missions that the US government can't be seen to be directly involved in.
Set to arrive in 2016, Suicide Squad is scheduled to be the next major DC adaptation after 2015's Batman vs Superman. For everything you need to know on this villainous title, check out our list of eight things you need to know.
