Watch eagles get trained to take out illegal drones
Sarah Connor had it wrong all along.
It turns out the best weapon against the rise of the machines comes from good old Mother Nature. Or at least, that's the view of the Dutch National Police, who have started training eagles to take out unmanned drones operating in illegal airspaces.
Working with the company Guard From Above, Dutch police are currently investigating if various large raptors can be trained to identify drones and take them out of the skies with minimal danger to the public below.
However, there are some drawbacks to using eagles for all drone takedowns: some larger models may damage the talons of the birds, so a protection system would be vital before the birds are enlisted to take on all aerial threats.
Let's just hope they're able to tell the difference between rogue drones and the Amazon models delivering our latest box set order.
