Weird things happen if you zoom in too far on Google Maps

Google Maps is incredible.

Think about it: it compiles satellite data with images captured by cameras mounted on cars, bikes and backpacks to give you the most detailed view of the world ever compiled in human history.

So it's only fair that every now and then some bugs creep into the system - as noted by digital artist Kyle F. Williams.

Much of Google's Street View images are compiled by camera spheres, simultaneously capturing multiple images from different angles before stitching them together with some fancy software to offer detailed, zoomed views of locations. However, should a subject in the field of view of the cameras move between images, strange things can happen.

Strange, unsettling things.
