The ♥ is a lie.
Plastered on playing cards, Valentine's gifts and modern emoji keyboards, anyone who's so much as glanced at a human heart (hopefully in the context of a biology text book) will know that this symbol "♥" doesn't look anything like the real thing.
So how did we get to this popular misconception? Who is to blame for filling our smartphones with curved anomalies? When will the false beauty standards of the heart symbol be recognised?!
Mercifully, the team of Vox has put together this educational short that explains how we got from bulging ventricles and muscle walls to ♥.
You're going to ♥ it.
